Our Mission
The Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association, a nonprofit organization, promotes and maintains high standards of piano teaching by offering opportunities and motivation for the educational growth of both teachers and their students.
Our Story
Founded in 1936, the Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association is one of the oldest and most respected music clubs in Pennsylvania. For almost a century, our members have been dedicated to continuing the education of piano teachers in the Greater Pittsburgh region and enriching the lives of students through music.
From recitals and workshops to scholarships and competitions, PPTA has awarded thousands of dollars in prizes and performance opportunities. Among our members are private piano teachers, college professors, and concert pianists—all united by a shared commitment to musical excellence and lifelong learning.
